Brunch and Beans

Joy and I braved the renowned lineup at Twisted Fork Bistro to try on of the city’s top-rated brunches. The bistro was bustling, packed with regulars and newbies alike. We were greeted by the friendly owner and server and after a 45 minute wait, we got seats right at the bar.

Can’t have brunch without coffee!

Joy and I each ordered a dish and shared.

The Eggs Benny with Smoked Salmon on top of a thick slice of toasted brioche.

Perfectly poached medium eggs with a creamy hollandaise sauce.  The Eggs Benny was delicious and the spinach and baked beans were a great accompaniment

The Gruyere baked eggs, bacon and baked beans.  The beans were the highlight of this dish with a deep rich flavour smothered atop sourdough toast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch experience at the Twisted Fork. Service was great and the food was fabulous. From what we could tell, the Caesar seems to be a local favourite – especially for those who are nursing a “morning headache”.

We’ll be returning to the Twisted Fork very soon – the Banana French Toast was calling my name as we were leaving.
